Dr. Ashmita Shah grew up in Greenville, SC and then attended the University of Georgia where she graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She then pursued her dental degree at the Medical University of South Carolina and graduated in 2006.

Professionally, Dr. Shah is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Georgia Dental Association, and Clarke County Dental Society. In the community, she is an active member of the Indian Association of Greater Athens and volunteers with different organizations to benefit many causes. 

Dr. Shah is married to Dr. Manish Shah, a local radiologist and together they have two children, Ronak and Karina. When she isn't working or volunteering in the community, Ashmita enjoys traveling, college football, reading, and spending time at the beach with her family.
